What will a lesson be like?

Each will be a little different, but here is an example Everyday English lesson.

  1. Watch, Listen & Discuss: We start by watching or listening to something, like a cooking video from Jamie Oliver.  Next we talk about the video and answer a few questions.

Making it Big: Jamie Oliver

  • Read a short article about Jamie Oliver’s career as a chef, then re-read it to find what quantifiers have been used.  For example: He has written quite a few books and only attended cooking school for a couple years.

Making it Big: Read about Jamie

  • Review & Practice: We talk about the rules for quantifiers, and count/uncountable nouns.  To Making it Big: Practice countable/uncountablepractice, we finish a few exercises.
  • Create your own sentences or questions using quantifiers.  For example: Do you have many days off from work?  No, I only have a few vacation days this year.
  • Vocabulary: What food groups can you name?
  • Discussion:  Talk about the connection between what you eat and how you feel. Making it Big: Discussing food & mood

After our lesson, I will send you your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation notes, and…that’s it!   If we do a number of lessons together, I will put together a review.

If you ever have specific questions, I’m happy to answer them.
